Before retiring to publish her family’s histories in 2007, Brenda held certification as a Certified Genealogist, No. 376, (10 May 1995- 2007) and as a Certified Genealogical Instructor, No. 2 (15 February 1997-2007 ) from the Board for Certification of Genealogists in Washington, D.C.

Biographical Information:

Brenda has a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from the University of Texas-Dallas, graduating cum laude. Brenda is a Founding Director and served many years as President of Genealogy Friends of Plano Libraries, Inc. She taught at Collin County Community College, now Collin College, and at Southern Methodist University-Plano until 2005, and earlier at Texas A&M. She has seven certificates from Samford IGHR, NIGR, Samford University London Studies Center in Kensington, researched at the Guild House in London, Cornwall Record Office, National Archives, Library of Congress, DAR Library, etc. A 5th generation Texan, a wife, mother and grandmother.
