Membership has its benefits!

The International Society of Family History Writers and Editors is open to anyone involved in genealogy columns and articles or writing about family history. This includes present and potential columnists, writers, and editors, as well as publishers, broadcasters, and webmasters for genealogical and historical societies.

Members receive Columns (the quarterly newsletter), access to the members only website, and have an opportunity to actively participate in one or more of ISFHWE's activities: the Annual Excellence-in-Writing Competition, our ISFHWE Mailing List, listings on the public website, and special promotions for ISFHWE members offered by partner vendors.

How to join

Memberships run for a year, by quarter - memberships beginning in Q1 expire in March; beginning in Q2 expire in June; beginning in Q3 expire in September; beginning in Q4 expire in December. Members may change their quarter by paying $5 per quarter to be moved (in addition to annual dues).

Please allow up to seven days for a new membership to be processed.

An annual ISFHWE membership meeting is held in conjunction with the National Genealogical Society conference. All meetings, ISFHWE-sponsored lectures and meals are open to all participants at both the NGS and FGS annual conferences.

Annual dues are $20 (U.S. dollars). We are happy to offer you two easy payment methods:
